We
started The Higher Taste in February of 1987. Being vegetarians,
we noticed that health food stores, supermarkets, schools
and hospitals had barely any choices of Grab-and-Go foods
for us to eat. So we decided to fill that void here in the
Portland area by developing a delicious variety of sandwiches,
salads and buzzitos™. After working
for years in a small kitchen on SE Belmont Street, we moved
into our own state of the art facility in April 2002. We
are now located on the corner of SE 28th and Holgate in
Portland. This is a great kitchen — Department of
Agriculture certified — and it has allowed us to expand
our production capabilities. In January 2003 we began a
new route and started servicing all the friendly, hungry
folks down in Eugene.
