Demo and Event Specialist

Higher Taste is a local, family-owned food manufacturer specializing in Vegan and Vegetarian foods. We’re seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Demo and Events Specialist! A Demo and Events Specialist is responsible for providing prompt, efficient and friendly customer service in a store setting while offering product samples and preparation suggestions. The ideal candidate will be an outgoing, results driven professional with a customer focused mindset.

 

Schedule:

Shift varies, appointments as scheduled

 

Job Responsibilities included, but not limited to:

• Maintain and foster growth with our client/ customers

• Organize with Office Administrator sample requests

• Stocks items needed for demonstrations insuring adequate supplies are available

• Follow best practices for safety while loading/ unloading demo materials and while on the road

• Setup booths and displays

• Understand and practice proper sanitation procedures 

• Greet customers in a friendly manner with a smile

• Prepare products for sampling and offer to customers

• Explain, make preparation suggestions and assist customers in finding the product within the store

• Make note of and communicate any customer suggestions and requests to Office Manager

• Practice patience in all customer interactions, treating them as the most important people in the store

Basic Qualifications:

• A current, valid Driver’s License (non-CDL) and clean driving record (required)

• Safe driving skills

• Food Handlers card (required)

• Reliability and Dependability are required

• Basic math skills (adding, subtracting, multiplication)

• Strong communication, public speaking and customer service skills

• Ability to be outgoing and engage with people from different backgrounds

• Ability to communicate in English (Bilingual Preferred)

• Knowledge of the Portland Metro area (Preferred)

 

Physical Requirements:

• Regularly required to talk and hear

• Ability to read descriptions, directions and street signs

• Frequently required to stand and to reach with hands and arms

• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs repetitively throughout your shift

• Ability to spend work day standing, bending, kneeling/ squatting & walking

• Maintain company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress

 

*In order to keep the lines of communication open and utilize the navigation feature, we ask that you have a cell phone with you while driving and doing demos. Higher Taste will pay a $25.00 stipend per paycheck to cover the costs.

Pay and Benefits:

• Pay is $16.00 per hour, DOE. Overtime pays time and a half

• $25.00 stipend on your paycheck to cover the cost of using your phone.
