Assistant Production Manager

The Assistant Production Manager is responsible for assisting the Production Manager in overseeing daily food production operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in staff supervision and food production, ability to communicate fluently in Spanish, and the ability to delegate tasks and multi-task efficiently. We need someone who is a “go-getter” who enjoys working hard and thinking critically about the whole scope of the production process.

**Our production facility is located in SE Portland and we are opening a second facility in Cornelius later this year - the Assistant Production Manager may be asked to commute to either or both facilities.**

Job Responsibilities

Supervise daily tasks of production staff, including training and giving feedback
Understand and implement all aspects of production, from cooking to final packaging and preparation for delivery
Delegate tasks to production staff as needed
Knowledge of food safety and quality control processes
Ability to step into production roles whenever needed - we need someone willing to learn all the roles of production
Tracking production logs (temperature, hand-washing, sanitizing, cleaning, etc)
Leading Safety Committee and tracking OSHA compliance
Schedule is Monday-Friday, 4:00/5:00 am - 3:30 pm (or when all tasks are complete); occasional Sunday shifts (training and covering for staff as needed).

Required Qualifications

1+ years in food production or food service
1+ years in management
Experience cooking large batch recipes
Ability to perform basic math functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication & division
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to spend work day standing, bending & walking
Ability to communicate in English
Knowledge of Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc)

Highly Preferred Qualifications

Ability to communicate fluently in Spanish
2+ years in food production
2+ years in management
Experience overseeing Food Safety/HAACP Plans
Knowledge of OSHA Safety policies

PAY AND BENEFITS

Pay range is $17-23 per hour, DOE. Overtime pays time and a half
